Harvesting sesame in Iran’s Khuzestan

The farmers in southwestern Iranian province of Khuzestan are harvesting sesame, one of the strategic agricultural products of the region.

The harvest season usually starts during mid-October and continues until the end of November.

With nearly 16.5 k hectares of farms in Khuzestan under cultivation of sesame crop, it is predicted that 14,000 tons of sesame will be harvested this year.

Due to climatic conditions, Khuzestan Province is known to be one of the important centers of production of various agricultural products in Iran.
